Mrs. Pierce earned her undergraduate degree from Kansas State University and master's degree from Washburn University. Mrs. Pierce began her education career as an elementary teacher for eight years here at Whitson Elementary! Following this, she served as an interventionist and later the Assistant Principal at Williams Science and Fine Arts Magnet School. In 2015, Mrs. Pierce transitioned back to Whitson as the building principal. This is Mrs. Pierce's 21st year with Topeka Public Schools and 10th year as the building principal at Whitson. Mrs. Pierce is a passionate educator who is dedicated to ensuring all students receive a high-quality education. Mrs. Pierce is a proud mother of two girls and a boy. She is a native and long-time resident of Topeka who enjoys spending time with her children and family.
Ms. Hannah Taylor, Assistant Principal

Ms. Taylor earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas, a master's degree in teaching English to speakers of other languages from Grand Canyon University, and a master's in educational administration from Kansas State University. She is also currently in her final year of an educational leadership doctoral program through the University of Kansas. Ms. Taylor started her career at Scott Dual Language Magnet as a preschool teacher. Then, she was the Early Childhood and Intervention Consulting Teacher in the district office before becoming the Assistant Principal at Whitson! This is Ms. Taylor's 8th year in education and Topeka Public Schools and 3rd year serving as the AP at Whitson. Ms. Taylor has a deep belief that all students can and will learn and works to support all students and staff in achieving this goal. Ms. Taylor is a lifelong Kansas resident who enjoys spending quality time with her fiancé, friends, and family, especially through games and escape rooms!
